![]() Of course why do I feel sorry for a man who created the literal atomic bomb? I suppose it's the intimacy of the movie so closely following Robert's life, it's easy to get caught in the excitement of it all, as he surely was. Robert's college days show how a troubled young student becomes one of the greatest scientists of his time, culminating in the 'heart-stoppingly' tense 'Trinity test' scene.Īs it all unfolds you can't help but think about the clear moral dilemma that the creation of the atomic bomb obviously is, and as everyone's excited with the science of it all, we know well enough what it will soon be used for, and later on is when we see Robert's guilty conscience begins to play a part, I somehow emphasise with him, despite (as he puts it) him being the one with "blood on his hands". They all masterfully join together, yet still feel unique. The story of "Oppenheimer" is what I would describe as a fast-paced political thriller, set in three different timelines at different points in Robert's life. The nudity would be fine for teens, and if you're still not OK and overly-react at things like this, you can easily cover your children's eyes for 10 seconds or fast-forward when it releases for TV viewing. However, this is severely over-exaggerated be reviews here, and consists of three or four 10-second scenes of this nature. standing out to me the passion they have put into their roles is unparalleled - as is everyone who takes part.Ī lot of people mention the nudity, and it is frontal nudity of Florence Pugh's breasts. The acting from the huge and talented cast is brilliant, with Cillian Murphey and Robert Downey Jr. 3 hours fly by as you are presented with what I would call Nolan's magnum opus. ![]() I had the pleasure of experiencing this film in 70MM IMAX, and to say it was a spectacle is an understatement. However, despite its 15 certification (which I believe is fair), the complex plot and fast-paced multi-timeline storyline may not be suited to some kids and teens, especially if they aren't used to films with more thought-provoking themes and complex stories. The cast, acting, soundtrack, cinematography, story - everything - join together to create an unforgettable experience. "Oppenheimer" is a film that will stay with you for a long time after you leave the cinema, as you reflect on what you've just seen. A haunting and thought-provoking spectacle that will probably go over young kids and teens heads, Christopher Nolan does it again!
